If you are going the glue route, I would recommend "Sticks like Sh*t". Never had any issues with trunking, plug-points on bare wall, skirting, etc. I managed to glue a 5 kg face-stone onto an indoor chimney hearth and despite my concerns, the thing is still sitting pretty.
