The white sandcast things everyone poo-poos are wirewound resistors which are quieter than film resistors (no excess noise) - you can find better looking wirewounds at RS Components - nice green vitreous enamel clad thingies or sexy gold heatsinked ones - but you are just paying for the looks...

The flat straight line you’re seeing at `24kHz indicates the audio was originally recorded at 48kHz (audio bandwidth can only ever be half the sampling frequency). Many hi-res files 88.2kHz, 96kHz or 192kHz are often just 44.1/48kHz files upsampled to the new frequency - thus they cannot contain...

You wont be able to tell if the file is 24bit from the display. If file is 24bit it will indicate that - it is a file property. What you want to know is whether the music was 16bit and then saved/converted to 24bit, as opposed to recorded in 24bit.

What the image is showing you is that there is very little information above 20kHz and possible the extra info above 25kHz is an artifact of upsampling? There should be a view that shows you frequency along the x-axis (left to right) and level vertically - that kind of display is easier to read...

@sailor you did not say that your cables are low capacitance - but you talked at length about the low K that Teflon has and that was the reason that you used it and found it to make your cables superior. Thus I assumed that you were talking about your cable being low capacitance - my error...
