I have an itch to build something. After some googling and reading. I think i need a push pull tube amp that can deliver around 20W per channel.
Seeing as the biggest deciding factor and cost is the output transformers imho The hammond 1645 seems like a good price at just under R1000 per unit on mrvalve. I really don't feel like ordering stuff from overseas in the near future.
this design seems like a standard practice one with lowish b+ for safety and simple to find parts. The only issue is the power transformer.
Am i correct to say that i can use 6sn7 in the place of 7n7?
any "don't go theres" from the more experienced designers when you look at this schematic:
